Transforming infrastructure through innovative cable recovery and fibre upgrade solutions

Plug Group Cable Extraction

About Plug Group

Plug Group develops cable extraction technology that specialises in unique processes and equipment used to facilitate the efficient removal of decommissioned network cables from the ground.

Plug Group currently operates in Singapore, Austria, UK and the Netherlands. The company is built on an extreme knowledge of a technology that has been used and trialled by many of the world's largest telecommunications companies, this technology allows us to recover and/or replace copper and coax cables using our unique pressurisation system or Direct pulling winch.

We are a group of individuals with diverse skills working closely together combining trust, clear communication, and shared goals to achieve results greater than any one person could alone. Each person brings complementary skills, respects different perspectives, and takes accountability for their role, creating momentum and resilience.

When collaboration is strong, decisions are faster, challenges are solved more effectively, and the business is better positioned to grow and succeed.

Proprietary Technology

Patented solutions developed through years of research and real-world testing in challenging environments.

Global Reach

Proven track record across multiple continents with major telecommunications and utility companies.

Value Creation

Unlock millions in stranded assets while enabling modern fibre infrastructure upgrades.

Where We Work

We work in all environments, tackling the impossible challenges that traditional methods cannot solve.

1

Ducted Cables

Extract cables from ducted systems where digging or road closures are prohibited, minimizing disruption to urban infrastructure.

2

Directly Buried Cables

Access in-ground buried cables where trenching is cost-prohibitive or environmentally restricted.

3

Collapsed Ducts

Recover cables from collapsed ducted systems that cannot be pulled out using traditional methods.

4

FTTX Projects

Support fibre-to-the-x deployments by clearing legacy infrastructure and enabling modern network upgrades.

5

Decommissioned Exchange Recovery

Recover valuable copper assets from decommissioned exchanges and legacy infrastructure.

Why Customers Choose Us

Our customers engage with us driven by two key factors

The Insatiable Demand for Copper

The demand for copper is so high because it is essential to modern infrastructure. It is critical for power grids, electronics, electric vehicles, and renewable energy systems like wind and solar. At the same time, copper is difficult to replace and slow to produce, which further intensifies demand.

As telcos decommission legacy copper lines in favour of fiber and wireless infrastructure, the unused copper embedded in the ground, ducts, and exchanges represents a recoverable asset rather than sunk cost. Recovering this copper can generate substantial revenue, reduce maintenance and security expenses, and support sustainability goals by returning valuable material to the supply chain.

The Demand for Fibre Connectivity

Fibre connections are essential because they provide the speed, reliability, and capacity needed to support modern digital life. Unlike copper-based networks, fibre can transmit vast amounts of data over long distances with minimal signal loss, making it ideal for streaming, cloud computing, remote work, telemedicine, and emerging technologies like AI and smart cities.

Fibre is also more energy-efficient and future-proof, capable of scaling to higher speeds without major infrastructure changes. As data demand continues to grow, fibre connections are critical to ensuring resilient, high-performance networks that can support economic growth and digital inclusion.
